Reading Danny Mark's website today reminded me of the time I went into a music store on the west side of Yonge Street, where the Eaton's Center is now located. As our musical careers became more sophisticated it was suggested that I play bass in our reformed band from The BeMaRs. Here I found an old Kay hollow-body electric bass, painted black. Supposedly it had belonged to the guy who played bass in the house band in the Silver Rail tavern up the street. Neck was a little loose but the price was right so my bass playing days started in The Storm. Brian (Bryan) play rhythm, Perry on lead, me playing bass and Mason on drums. Man we were good!. hahahah

My first guitar was bought from Eaton's. We patronized that store and catalogue a great deal because my Uncle Jim Davy was in management there. At one time he was manager of their College Street Store. I also bought my first motorcycle from Eaton's with his discount - a Jawa 175cc in 1965. Several years earlier I had bought my first electric guitar, with the help of my mother, from guess where? yes Eaton's again. It was probably a stratocaster-styled with double humbucking pickups. As I look back now, it was like playing a cedar log, compared to my buddy Bryan's guitar.
